15. Iowa: Dan Gable (Waterloo)
Born in Waterloo, Gable went utterly undefeated in high school and lost only a single match during his entire collegiate career at Iowa State (finishing 117-1). He reached mythical status at the 1972 Munich Olympics, where he won the gold medal in freestyle wrestling without surrendering a single point to any opponent. He later became the head wrestling coach at the University of Iowa, leading the Hawkeyes to an astounding 15 NCAA team titles.
