23. Minnesota: Lindsey Vonn (Burnsville)
Learning to ski at Burnsville’s Buck Hill, a small local ski area with a tow rope, Vonn developed a fearless approach to speed. She evolved into one of the greatest alpine skiers in history, capturing 82 World Cup victories, four overall World Cup championships, and a gold medal in the downhill at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Her career was defined not just by winning, but by her incredible ability to repeatedly return from devastating knee injuries.
