43. Massachusetts: Singing The Anthem
Patriotism is strictly and legally enforced when it comes to the performance of national musical symbols. A state law mandates that singing, playing only part of, remixing, or dancing to the national anthem is punishable by a severe municipal fine. Whoever performs the Star-Spangled Banner in any public space or theater must do so as an entire, separate, and highly respectful composition.
