36. Oklahoma: Jim Thorpe (Prague)
Born on the Sac and Fox Nation in Indian Territory (modern-day Oklahoma), Thorpe is heavily regarded as the greatest multi-sport athlete of the 20th century. At the 1912 Stockholm Olympics, he won gold medals in both the pentathlon and the rigorous decathlon. Afterward, he played professional baseball, professional basketball, and was a foundational pioneer of professional football, serving as the first president of what would eventually become the NFL.
