Antagonizing an aggressive animal is never a smart idea, but this state makes it a direct criminal offense. A bizarre law states that in Oklahoma, a citizen can be heavily fined, arrested, or jailed for intentionally making ugly faces at a dog. The rule is intended to prevent foolish individuals from intentionally provoking domestic animals into attacking. Such provocation frequently led to severe physical injuries and the forced, tragic euthanization of the defending pet.
